But what I find instead is unbelievable.
Four blank canvases.
I can hardly believe my luck.
I dash to my bedroom and gather my acrylics and brushes; I'd just bought a new set last week.
The first canvas shall hold a still life of sorts

he is here beside the waters in my mind floating in memories too slippery to hold
gasping here in final breath and thought i slide my hand between his heart and mine to remind
us both
that life is and was and forever will be nestled in
eyes and thoughts
of yesterday and gray stone beneath the floor to fertilize the generations of us
eternally.
